Swan babies !!!

I was so excited. I heard that Mrs. Swan had her babies (they are called cygnets)! So we went for a walk at the lake and there they were! Teddy and I approached very carefully.

OMD! Could they be any more adorable ?

But then Mrs. Swan saw us and sort of freaked. She raised her wings and looked a bit scary! So we went around the tree to avoid her wrath.

Going around the tree was good for avoiding Mrs Swan. However, Mr. Swan saw us. Talk about scary! We know what is good for us, so we hurried away from the Swan family.

PS. We will be taking lots more pics of the little swans. Next time, we hope it will be a sunny day instead of a rainy one!

Happy Gotcha Day Bunnybell !

Today is my niece Bunnybell's Gotcha Day ! My human sis Sydne adopted her from a rescue group 11 years ago ! She has aged amazingly well, don't you think? Anyway, I can't wait to see her this weekend....

I will take her on a stroll to Swan Lake. Oh yeah, she will be meeting Teddy for the first time too. I have to make sure he understands that this is not a Bunny we chase! .
Please join me in wishing Bunnybell an awesome Gotcha Day !

Swan Lake Walk

The other day we went to the lake for the first time with Teddy. Before we set off on our walk, I told him about the Swans.

When we got to the other side of the lake there he was - Mr. Swan . (Mrs Swan is off having babies.)

Teddy was really curious. He wanted to go close, but I told him we need to keep walking.

On our second lap around the lake we saw Mr. Swan again. This time, Teddy didn't listen and wanted to go closer to the swan.

When Mr. Swan started coming toward him ,Teddy sort of freaked out. Then he told me that he no longer wants to go near Mr. Swan. My little brother is a quick learner !

Titus Meets Swans

The other day when I took Titus to the lake, I totd him all about the swans.

It was lucky that I did since Mr. Swan swam up while Titus and I walked by.

Titus was very curious and moved to get a bit closer.  Not too close since he doesn't like water.

Later on our walk, Mr. and Mrs Swan were on the sidewalk. I explained to Titus that the swans have the right of way at Swan Lake, so he needs to respect their space and let them cross. And  he did!

Then when they were back on the grass, Titus walked by and didn't even give them a look. Titus is such a good boy ! (But, I think he is secretly afraid of them.)

Swan Lake XIII

The other day we went down to the lake and look what we saw! Mr. and Mrs. Swan with their new babies !

Annie wanted to know if she could go to the edge of the lake and get up close and personal with the babies.

I said NO! Annie. Swans are very protective of their little ones and you don't want them to get mad. I told her to keep a good distance. Actually the best thing is what I do,  just ignore them.

But Annie wanted to keep on watching the Swan family. I'm glad she at least listened to me and stayed back.

Swan Lake VII

The other day at the lake, we saw Mr. Swan. I asked how Mrs. Swan and her eggs were doing. But he just ignored me!

Then later when I was alone resting in my stroller Mr. Swan swam right up to me ! He said he wasn't ignoring me, he just was concerned that Annie would chase him. Mrs. Swan is doing fine. I cant wait to see baby swans again !
P.S. If you cant see the video, you can see it here

Swan Crossing

Dear world,
The other day at the lake, Mrs. Swan started crossing the path without yielding us the right of way like she was supposed to. So I started arguing with her. But she continued across the path. The next thing I knew, Baby Swan crossed the path along with her. Mommy told me to stop barking but I think it is important for the whole Swan family to understand their position and the rules in my Princessdom.
BearHUGs Forever,
Rosy
P.S. On a sad note, there is only one baby swan left. RIP Baby Swan II.

Swan Lake VI

Mrs & Mr Swan had babies! I wanted to congratulate the couple on their new little cygnets. But Mr. Swan came over and told me to keep my distance and not bark and scare the babies. I thought that was a reasonable request. So I went to the dock to watch with the humans. How adorable!

Swan Lake II

The other day we went to Swan Lake (that is what we have named it). And not only did we see Mr. Swan, but he was with some of his swan pals. So we ran over, I thought to say hi and make new friends.
Annie, however, had a different idea and scared them away. Oh well. I guess it she will always be a sporting dog, no matter how many Princess lessons I give her!
