New Year's Eve

Dear world,
I just love New Year's Eve. I am all excited dreaming of sparkly fun and barking Happy New Year at midnight. Annie however wants to celebrate too, but she does not want to stay up so late. I had no idea I needed poop bags for my party pooper dog!
Here's to a fab New Year!

Cabrillo National Monument

After our burger lunch, we went to see the Cabrillo National MonumentIt's located at the southern tip of Point Loma Peninsula commemorating the landing of Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo at San Diego Bay in 1542.  First we stopped at the famous statue. No pets are allowed in that part, but since I am a princess, I thought it would be fine to just take a picture.

Next we went to the Tide Pools where we all could hike around and sniff the incredible views.

I think this is a must see in San Diego. Absolutely fab photo ops!

Slaters 50/50

Dear world,
The other day we all went to Slaters 50/50. They are famous for their innovative hamburger concoctions. I ordered for me, Annie and Bunnybell off the Doggie menu. I chose the 50/50 burger patties which were a blend of beef and bacon. They were so amazing that Bunnybell did a happy jig for more!

Defenders of Wildlife

Dear world,

Our fave Christmas presents were adopted Bears from Defenders of Wildlife in memory of Bear. I got a Grizzly (since I am a Memphis Grizzlies fan), Bunnybell got a Panda Bear for color coordination and Annie got a Polar Bear since it is creamy white like her.  But Annie immediately ate the Polar Bear’s eye, and then the Panda’s nose. I tried to explain that the point  is to save the animals, not eat them!

Joy to the World !

Dear world,
We want to wish everyone who celebrates a very merry Christmas. We are so fortunate not only so many toys and treats, but the most wonderful forever homes that any of us could have ever have wished for. So while we enjoy celebrating, we put our paws together and make our Christmas wish  for all the homeless dogs around the world to soon feel loved in their own forever homes.
Joy to the world.

Fabulous Time of Year

Dear world,
Since the holidays are such a fabulous time of year, I thought it called for some fabulousness in our attire. I always think feathers are such a glamorous look. Annie was not happy. She said that she thinks feathers should be left on the birds. She obviously has a lot to learn about fashion !

Annie's party

Dear world,
Annie’s Gotcha Day party was very nice. She loves bright colors and polka dots so that is what I chose for the décor.  We served cupcakes and I took the pink one and gave Annie the Purple  one. But she wanted mine! I knew I shouldn't have told her she can be in #1 position for the day!

Annie's Gotcha Day !

Can you believe it has been a whole year since we got my dog Annie?  This was the Facebook post that Mommy, Bear and I saw that prompted us to suggest (strongly) to Daddy that she needed to be part of our family. And Daddy couldn't resist that face either! Of course I was not going to have a dog named Bermuda. We decided on Annie because she was an orphan (Little Orphan Annie) and she came from the shelter in Santa Ana. We love her very much and can't imagine our family without her. We will be celebrating tonight! (Bear is probably having a pizza party with his angel friends!)
Happy Gotcha Day Annie !

Elves for hire

Dear world,
I really want to get presents for my family and friends for Christmas. But I don't have any money. I heard temporary positions are available during the holidays. So I thought Rosy and I could maybe get a job as elves. Do you know anyone that is hiring?

Nutcrackers

Dear world,
Mommy loves nutcrackers. So of course, she was so excited to show us the new Annie and Rosy nutcrackers. Annie thought they were nice. I on the other paw looked at Mom and said seriously? This looks nothing like me! Forget that it is wearing red not pink, but where are the fluffy ears?

Giant shoe

Dear world,
While we were on vacation, we saw this giant shoe. Mommy thought it was a perfect photo opportunity and put me in it. Not a good idea Mommy. Now I have the occasional nightmare of being stepped on by giant shoes!

Poinsettia Hats

Dear world,
Mommy had this idea for a portrait. She had Rosy and I sit in front of the poinsettias and look at the camera.  I couldn't see through this giant flower on my head.  But Rosy told me to just pose since it was like modeling haute couture hats. She said this headgear is wonderful for her millinery appetite.  Appetite? Are we supposed to eat these hats? They don't even smell good. I don't get it.

Santa visits

The other day we went to visit Santa. It was a tad of a debacle . Annie was scared of Santa at first and accidentally pulled part of his beard off. Then we went to a different Santa and Annie freaked a bit again and almost fell off his lap. I on the other hand was perfectly comfy. So I let Annie explore the store while I chatted with Santa about some things he might consider bringing me for Christmas.

New shoes

Dear world,
The other day Mommy came home and said she bought shoes for us. I was so excited for pink glitter ballet flats. But I opened the bag and I saw these Christmas booties. I tried passing them off to Annie but they were too small for her. Maybe Santa will get it right!

Conehead

Dear world,
I was so happy when my pink bandage came off so I got to chew on my foot. But then the cones came out. First I got this blue one that I liked cause I could still reach my foot. But that was when the pink big plastic one came on. Rosy tried to cheer me up telling me that now everything will look pretty through my rose colored cone. That is assuming that I can see the world without bumping into everything.

Paw Bandage

Dear world,
Annie went to Dr. Andy to get this yucky thing taken off her foot. When she came home she was upset with the bandages on her paws. I explained that the ugly blue one will be coming off immediately. But the hot pink one on her foot was just fabulous. I told her I could make it even prettier by gluing some sequins on it, I don't know why, but she didn't seem thrilled.

PS. Annie is fine, don't worry.

Stop and Smell the Rosy

Dear world,
We went to  this beautiful rose garden in Santa Barbara. Mommy said we should all take the time to stop and smell the Rosy. So I did. Bunnybell turned away laughing and Rosy got annoyed at me. OK, so I misunderstood. But why would I want to smell roses ? Rosy smells much more interesting.

Botanic Garden

Dear world,
While in Santa Barbara we visited the Botanic Garden. We all hiked through the forest. Mommy brought my stroller cause she was afraid I would get tired. But I was invigorated by all the amazing smells and continued prancing and sniffing on the beautiful trail. The next thing I knew Bunnybell took advantage of the situation.

Clang Clang Clang went the Trolley

Dear world,
The other day we went to Solvang near Santa Barbara also called “little Denmark”. I was excited   cause I thought we would get to meet a bunch of Great Danes. But instead, we all took this trolley ride  pulled by giant Belgian horses. I am not sure what the difference between Danish and Belgian horses are. Maybe one eats pastries the other eats waffles?

Little Poodle Sur

Dear world,
To get from Carmel to Santa Barbara we took this incredibly winding road. I watched intently as the curves hugged the ocean.  This beautiful area is called Big Sur from "el país grande del sur", "the big country of the south",  (south of the Monterey Penninsula)Then I realized since I am originally from the South I could be referred to as Little Poodle Sur.

Thanksgiving feast

Dear world,
As usual, our family goes nontraditional for the Thanksgiving feast. Mommy calls Joe in Miami to get dinner. He sends over a big box. No turkey legs, just stone crab claws. I like them cause they taste a bit like tuna!

Hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving.
