Tea Time

Its been so chilly lately so I thought it would be nice to have tea time with Annie. So I took out my new BoBu tea pot with its fab little warmer. (I haven't had the chance to bedazzle it yet). And I served tea and biscuits. The next thing I know...

Thanksgiving Project

For my Princess School Art Class this week, I decided to have Annie make Turkey glasses to wear on Thanksgiving. I showed her traditional holiday colors with my markers and then gave her crayons to work with (no way was I going to let her use markers and get everything stained!) When I saw what she made, I was so proud of her! She drew on her creative talents and used non-traditional colors for her turkey!  But then, she started eating her crayon. Oh Annie.

Beach photo class

Part of Princess School curriculum is fan photos. The class covers how to set up and pose for pictures upon fan request. Since we live in San Diego people often take pics of us at the beach. So I took Annie there to practice. I told her that first she needs to pick a good spot for the picture. So she chose a pretty spot at the ocean's edge and started smiling. 

That was when she had her first lesson about choosing the right spot. Since she got all wet and sandy I had to cancel the rest of the class. She barked next time she will pose by the rocks. OK. She's learning.

International Puzzle Day

To celebrate tomorrow's International Puzzle Day, I thought I would give Annie a challenge with a United States Map Puzzle. So I gave her the box with all the pieces and then left the room to take a beauty nap. When I came back I was so surprised! Even though she did not put the puzzle together yet, she had placed all the States correctly. I was so proud of her! All this Princess schooling is finally paying off!

Piña Colada Day

I thought what a perfect day to hold another Entertaining Class in my Princess School. So I set everything out for demonstration and proceeded with my lesson on "Hosting A Tropical Party with Virgin Piña Coladas". After I was finished explaining the ingredients and process, Annie raised her paw to ask a question. She barked "Why do I need to learn how to prepare drinks for a party? Doesnt a Princess have staff to do that? Dare I say she has a point?

Birthday Cheer

Today is my niece Caroline's 10th birthday. She is so fab. Not only is she a budding actress but she is an amazing cheerleader! I am thinking maybe of adding a Cheerleading elective to my Princess School with Caroline as the guest teacher. She could get my students and I ready for the San Diego Chargers season. I wonder if her Mom would let her leave Chicago and spend the summer with us?

DIY Tiaras

Dear world,
I received this wonderful craft kit with cut out tiaras and sparkly gems to decorate them with.  So I thought it would be a perfect Princess Art Class to make our own tiaras.While Bunnybell and I were carefully crafting, Annie was getting frustrated cause of her big paws. Then she thought she was so funny when she just placed the gems directly on her head. So when Bunnybell and I were finished with our tiaras, I did a neater placement on Annie's head for her innovative DIY tiara. Don't we all look fab?

Polite Rejection

Dear world,

We were at the beach yesterday and a puppy was interested in Annie. Annie interacted gently and then decided she did not want to play with the puppy. I'm so proud; her Princess lessons are paying off. Annie has finally mastered polite rejection.

Lemonade

With the launch of Beyonce's album last weekend, I was inspired to hold Lemonade class for Annie and Bunnybell.  Each of them had a very different reaction. While Annie thought the Lemonade looked too weird to drink, Bunnybell couldn't wait to drink it all up. I explained to her however that she cant drink it. We will be using what we make for our Entrepreneur Class in which we will create a Lemonade Stand.

Passover

It's Passover. So for Jewish Princess training,  I sat down with Annie and Bunnybell to teach them how to prepare the Sedar plate. While they liked learning about the history, they were not too enthused with the food items. Bunnybell kept asking, where's the Chopped Liver?

Lawn Bowling

The other day I decided it was time for Annie to learn lawn bowling. So when the pins were set up, I explained the game and gave her the green ball.

I demonstrated with my purple ball how to knock the pins down.

When it was her turn she went over to the pins and knocked them down with her nose. Next class, remedial lawn bowling.

Presidents Day

Today is Presidents Day. So I thought it was the perfect time for a history lesson at Princess School. Annie was a bit overwhelmed. She thought she was just going to learn about George Washington and maybe Abe Lincoln. I told her that it is important to learn about all the Presidents of the United States. She then reminded me that schools are supposed to be closed on Presidents Day. Well then, see you tomorrow!

With Valentines Day coming up, I thought I would work with Annie to make Valentines. After I made my fab cascading hearts card, I looked over at Annie's card. Hmm. I suggested that maybe she should rethink placing things backwards and upside down on her card. She barked that she was inspired by our Art Galleries visits to create artistic and unique Valentines. OK. Whatever.

Thanksgiving treats

Dear world,

One of the things I teach in Princess School is to be a good guest as well as fab hostess. So I explained to Annie it would be nice to get some Pup Treats that we could bring to someone’s house or serve to guests at our house.  And it is always nice to have a themed gift for the holidays. So we went to the fab Three Dog Bakery and selected a yummy Thanksgiving assortment. I took the treats out and showed Annie how to display them. But the second I turned away, she immediately bit into the turkey leg! Will Annie ever learn to be a Princess?

Karate Class

Dear world,

I understand that the Martial Arts are a wonderful way of teaching self-discipline and socialization skills. So I decided to add Karate to my Princess School curriculum. I enrolled Annie in class and gave her a Karate robe. I know she should start with a white belt,  but since I needed to entice her I gave her a red belt since that is her fave color.  Yes,  my black belt is the best,  but I really wish it was pink.

Bake-a-Bone

Dear world,
The other day I had Annie attend my Princess School Baking class. My lesson plan was Bake-a-Bone Beef Biscuits. I first showed her all the ingredients and tools. She was most interested in the chopped beef of course. Then I made the batter but insisted Annie stay far away from the hot griddle. Her best performance in the class was eating the results.

Banking

Dear world,

The other day Annie attended my Princess School banking class that teaches the importance of saving money. As an example, I showed her Daddy’s money jar of all his loose change that he has saved over the past year. For her homework I told her she needs to convince Daddy to put change in our banks since his is full. Not too difficult an assignment with those big brown eyes of hers!

Fairy Princess Class

After all, it does count as one of her summer school requirements.

Graduation

Dear world,
It is graduation time at my Princess school. I felt bad that Annie was not graduating, so I gave her a graduation toy. She did not understand why she couldn't graduate and wear a Princess gown. I reminded her that while she excelled in some, she did not pass all her classes including Proper Drinking (without post drool) and Burying Bones (not digging them with your nose). Summer school for Annie.
