Football star

While I was taking a break from lifeguarding, my cousins asked if I wanted to play football. I never played before, but they gave me position of receiver. And there was the first throw.

And I caught my first football ! Awesome!

Then everyone wanted to keep throwing it to me.

And I just kept catching it!

My family now calls me a Football Star ! Who would have known?

Easter Egg Hunt

On Sunday Mommy put on an Easter egg Hunt for us.  There must have been over 50 eggs all with different treats in them!

Teddy figured out quickly how to get them open.

There was only one time that we wanted the same egg.

Then I noticed some of the eggs were in the basket! Had to get those out! (and then get the silly basket off my head!)

We couldn't find any more closed eggs, so we took a rest.

Then we saw the bag that Dad put the empty eggs in. So we knocked over the bag to see the empty eggs to make sure they were all empty. They were. No more treats.
So the Easter Egg hunt was officially offer. Can't wait till next year!

Go Fish

I decided it would be good for Annie to learn card games. So I started with Go Fish. For the first game I dealt our cards face up so it would be easier for her to understand. She listened intently as I read the rules.
Then I started the game. I asked Annie if she had a sea turtle. She barked no. I said but Annie, you do have a sea turtle card. And then she became sad.  She didn't want to give up any of her cards because she liked them all.
I am going to have to figure out a different game to play.

Lawn Games

The other day I thought I would teach Annie some lawn games. So I brought out the horseshoes and ring toss set and explained how to play. I barked that we will start with ring toss.

Annie took her ring and threw it on my head ! She thought she was SO funny. I was not amused. So I thought if that was the way she wanted to play, I would change the rules of horseshoes.

Then I threw my pink horsehoe directly on Annie's nose which gave me a perfect score. I won.

Lawn Bowling

The other day I decided it was time for Annie to learn lawn bowling. So when the pins were set up, I explained the game and gave her the green ball.

I demonstrated with my purple ball how to knock the pins down.

When it was her turn she went over to the pins and knocked them down with her nose. Next class, remedial lawn bowling.

National Chess Day

Dear world,
Since Checkers Day in September, I have diligently been trying to teach Annie to play Chess. It took a while,  but she did start listening and showing some interest. So now that Chess Day has arrived, Annie decided she was ready. So she had her Queen take out one of her pawns. OK. So we should go back to playing Checkers.

Playdough

Dear world,
Yesterday we found little tubs of Playdough. I showed Annie that we could stamp our pawprint on it, but her paws are too furry and big. So we asked Mommy to make us things. So I got a fab blue kitty and beautiful flower. Annie thought she was clever when she asked for a hot dog, hamburger and bacon! But then was bummed that she couldn't eat it!

Jacks

The other day Annie and I found Jacks in the closet and decided we should play. Since neither of us knew how, Annie looked to me for direction of course.

I thought first we must choose our colors, so I took the pink and gold. But I wasn't sure what to do with the ball. So I picked up the pink one and threw it (with my mouth).

It landed near my pile so I told Annie that I won. How do you play Jacks?
