Annie wanted to know why
strange foods were being served. I explained that tonight is Rosh Hashanah,
the beginning of the Jewish new year 5776. On Rosh Hashanah, we dip challah (bread) and apples into honey and say pawprayers
asking G*d for a good and sweet year. I also explained that during these high holy days we
need to atone for our sins. So Annie apologized for always stealing treat bags
out of Mommy’s purse. I apologized for being very bossy. Then we both agreed
that we would do our absolute best to be fabulously good girls.
Shanah Tovah! (A good year!)
