Rosh Hashanah

Annie wanted to know why strange foods were being served. I explained that tonight is Rosh Hashanah, the beginning of the Jewish new year 5776. On Rosh Hashanah, we dip challah (bread) and apples into honey and say pawprayers asking G*d for a good and sweet year. I also explained that during these high holy days we need to atone for our sins. So Annie apologized for always stealing treat bags out of Mommy’s purse. I apologized for being very bossy. Then we both agreed that we would do our absolute best to be fabulously good girls.
Shanah Tovah!  (A good year!)

San Diego Chargers

Dear world,
This weekend its the start of the season for the San Diego Chargers.  The team asked the fans to wear white for the home season opener to "Unite in White" and make it a #WhiteHotSunday. Annie was concerned since there were only blue shirts in her size (she is not cheerleader material). I told her not to worry because she is always wearing white because of her fur color. She felt much better.
Go Chargers!

The Dogs of 9/11

Today is the anniversary of 9/11. It is a day to honor all those lost and recognize all that worked tirelessly during and in the aftermath.  As canines, we want to give special recognition to the dogs of 9/11.  So I thought a perfect way to remember those pups, was to read Ron Burns book A Tribute to the Dogs of 9/11 with beautiful paintings and stories about some of those special dogs. Thank you to all the dogs and their handlers for being there when humankind so desperately needed you.

Teddy Bear Day

Dear world,
Today is National Teddy Bear Day. So Annie and I thought we would gather all of our teddy bears and tell them how much we love and appreciate them. Then I made Annie promise she wouldnt bite any more of their noses off today.

Labor Day BBQ

Dear world,
For Labor Day weekend, Daddy did a wonderful barbecue. Annie and I both wanted the steak but there was only one. So I told Annie that since she gets tummy aches from steak and I am the Princess, I get to have the steak. She was slightly disappointed but got over it once the hot dog entered her mouth.

Cheese Pizza Day

Dear world,
Its National Cheese Pizza Day! So Mommy picked up a cheese pizza . Annie was freaked because it was still hot. She asked Mommy to put it in the freezer, but Mommy told her to just wait. I certainly wasn't going to wait. I took a slice right out of the box and dug in. What a fab holiday!

Skateboarding

I always see young teens skateboarding so I thought it was time to try it. So I got a pink skateboard of course, and it even had Disney princesses on it! Next, I need to find a helmet in my size, and it needs to be pink. Then I will need a lot of practice in my driveway since skateboarding is not as easy as it looks, at least not for a poodle. It will be a while before you see me on the half pipe!

Sugar

Dear world,
Last Sunday we got to see our friend Sugar at the hotel where she was staying. At first, seeing a tent,  I wasn't quite sure about her accomodations. But then she took us to see the spa and I totally approved! Over brunch, Sugar barked about her fab weekend . You can read all about it on her must read blog GoldenWoofs! We love Sugar!
