As a
writer, I wanted to celebrate today. So I thought it would be a good idea to
read the Dictionary and learn some new words. I also wanted to encourage Annie
to build her vocabulary, so I thought Curious George could help her start. After reading a bit, she asked Mommy if she
could get a “collectible” and some "canine confections” at the pet store. Great.
Now she knows new words for Toys and Treats!
What
new word did you learn today?

Rosy it sure looks like Annie learned some useful words! I learned DAMNIT! today. My mom yelled it at me when I knocked over her full glass of soda. She wasn't happy I was waving my butt in the air near the end table. Happy Dictionary Day!
ReplyDeleteOMP! I think you may want to stick to the Dictionary to build your vocatulary! Too bad you didnt knock over a glass of milk, then you could have cleaned it up! BearHUGs & RosyPoodleKisses!
DeleteOh how perfect!!! We learned ZOOMIES!!!
ReplyDeleteYes! So Dictionary Day is an International holiday -- and what a fab word! So good to see you Rumbles ! BearHUGs & RosyPoodleKisses!
DeleteLearning new words is important for communication, isn't it Rosy? I'm glad you're inspiring Annie even if she learns new words for TOYS and TREATS. I need to put into practice the word PROMPT. I'm always a day behind on your blog. Shame on me. xo
ReplyDeleteIts OK --or OKAY , Both are acceptable spellings according to the Dictionary! BearHUGs & RosyPoodleKisses!
DeleteGreat article; and just in time because I just got scolded for my new word of the day: "Damn."
ReplyDeleteYep, that's what I learned from my mummy. She's always Googling stuff about the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (and she doesn't even spell it like I do). I just hope her fans won't slam her new novel for the wrong spelling. Anyway, I am keeping my paws on our dictionary. She has one called "Langenscheidt." I guess so she can look things up in English and German. Who needs it, I say. I've got my a new word - and I am sticking to it!
OMP! That is like the word Tikka learned (above). Its so fab that you are around so many words and even in another language! BearHUGs & RosyPoodleKisses!
