Lasagna Day

Dear world,
Today is yet another holiday - Lasagna Day ! So Annie asked Mommy if she could make lasagna. Mommy said she was too busy but surprised us with a box of Lasagna. Annie immediately tried to figure out how to eat it. I explained it was frozen and needed to be heated up first (do I need to teach her how to microwave?) Of course, Annie just loved her Lasagna and can't wait till the next food holiday !

Bake-a-Bone

Dear world,
The other day I had Annie attend my Princess School Baking class. My lesson plan was Bake-a-Bone Beef Biscuits. I first showed her all the ingredients and tools. She was most interested in the chopped beef of course. Then I made the batter but insisted Annie stay far away from the hot griddle. Her best performance in the class was eating the results.

Pool Day

Dear world,
When Bunnybell was visiting last weekend we had a nice pool day. First I had her and Annie join me on my float. Bunnybell really liked that, but of course Annie freaked again. Then Annie and Bunnybell spent time tanning. I personally try to stay out of the sun since I don't want wrinkles.

Hot Dog Day

Today is such a fab day ... its National Hot Dog Day ! So Annie and I were served plain hot dogs and our choice of cheese and bacon topping. Annie loaded up her hot dogs with everything. I, on the other paw,  am a hot dog purist. What toppings do you like on your hot dog?
Happy Hot Dog Day !

Daiquiri Day

Yesterday was National Daiquiri Day. So I decided to hold Princess School Daiquiri Class for Annie and Bunnybell.  I taught them how to make Virgin Strawberry Daiquiris. I think it is important for budding Princesses to learn the art of entertaining.

Texas Ranger

Dear world,
The other day at the beach we met a Great Dane called Texas Ranger. Annie was afraid he was going to arrest us for something. I told her not to worry cause we are not in Texas. And anyway, why is his name Texas Ranger? We live in San Diego, shouldn't his name be Padre ?

PS -- For those who are unfamiliar with USA Baseball, the Texas Rangers are a baseball team from Dallas/Ft. Worth metro. We live in San Diego, California and our team is the Padres (and we love our team, no matter what!)

Opening Day at Del Mar

Dear world,
Its Opening Day at Del Mar Racetrack. It is such a fabulous scene. Since no canines are allowed, I thought maybe we could sneak into the paddock. Then once we were in we would blend right in with all the fashionable ladies. The only problem is that Annie likes to bark at horses. So I am not so sure this plan will work.

Banking

Dear world,
The other day Annie attended my Princess School banking class that teaches the importance of saving money. As an example, I showed her Daddy’s money jar of all his loose change that he has saved over the past year. For her homework I told her she needs to convince Daddy to put change in our banks since his is full. Not too difficult an assignment with those big brown eyes of hers!

Signature Flower

Dear world,
The other day I was so happy when Daddy brought home roses, my signature flower! Annie wanted to know what her signature flower is. Hmm. I have no idea. What do you think it should be?

Teddy Bear Picnic Day

It is Teddy Bear Picnic Day so of course we had to celebrate.  Annie and I invited all of our teddy bears. I had to scold Annie about taking the chicken off the plate. She knows she has to wait until it is cut up and deboned. And importantly, we need to serve our guests first! She needs to go back to manners class again!

Hula girls

Dear world,
Another thing I am trying to teach Annie is to use her imagination more.  So I dressed us up in hula outfits and told Annie to imagine that we were on vacation in Hawaii.  She didn't understand why we would do that. She said that she is perfectly happy with her reality of being on a beach in San Diego. I guess she has a point.

Pool Float Yoga

Dear world,
I love relaxing in the pool on my float. I always try to ask Annie to join me, but she just watches. The other day I finally convinced her to come on the float with me. She just froze laying down with her butt up in the air. She told me that she was in the downward dog position trying to meditate to get her mind off of how freaked she was.  I had no idea she does yoga!

Celebrating Independence

Dear world,
It's Fourth of July weekend! Time to celebrate Independence. And while I love and try to teach Annie to be an independent thinker, we actually love our dependence on Mommy and Daddy. But we think it is important to celebrate America's Independence and of course look absolutely fab doing it!
Happy Independence Day !

La Jolla Cove

The other day we went for a stroll at La Jolla Cove. Mommy took us on the rocks to get up close to sea lions. Annie was really interested in them.

But when the waves splashed near us against the rocks she ran behind Mommy. What happened to her sense of adventure?
